E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer yanks Kelly and Tom Turbulo, newlyweds basking in the idyllic charm of their honeymoon, into a whirlwind adventure. Their dream vacation takes a sharp turn when they stumble upon a shocking discovery: a brewing terrorist plot. This unexpected reality throws a wrench into their romantic getaway, replacing it with a desperate race against time.

This fast-paced action novel takes you on a thrilling ride as the newlyweds stumble upon a group of dangerous individuals. Their honeymoon quickly transforms from a romantic escape to a race against time as they try to unravel the terrorists' sinister plans. With danger lurking around every corner, Kelly and Tom must rely on their wit, resourcefulness, and newfound partnership to overcome the challenges thrown their way.

Mercer's writing style is engaging and has kept me hooked. She masterfully balances action sequences with moments of humour, providing a welcome respite from the tension. The island setting adds a layer of vibrancy to the story, making the sudden intrusion of danger even more striking. The threat of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack adds a layer of technological intrigue and fear, as readers witness the potential devastation such an event could unleash.

The theme of EMP takes centre stage, forcing readers to confront the vulnerability of modern society to a large-scale technological blackout. Mercer explores the potential consequences of such an attack, highlighting the chaos and desperation it could cause. This exploration adds a sense of urgency to the story, as Kelly and Tom understand the gravity of stopping the terrorists before they unleash their weapon.

While this novel boasts an exciting plot, there are a few aspects that might not resonate with every reader. The story relies heavily on the sudden discovery of a terrorist plot, which might feel a bit outlandish for some. The quick shift from honeymoon bliss to high-stakes action could be jarring and leave some readers wanting a more gradual build-up. Despite these aspects, this book remains an enjoyable read for those looking for a fast-paced adventure with a dash of romance, and I will rate it five out of five stars.

The book is exceptionally well edited. This fiction novel is a perfect read for those who enjoy a good dose of action with a touch of romance. It's a story that reminds us that love and resilience can conquer even the most unexpected places.
