Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole was an intriguing book that I had trouble putting down. This story focuses on the supernatural and secret organizations with an interesting twist. To illustrate, of the main characters, one is utterly clueless to the supernatural events that occur in his world. This story highlights the power of friendship and loyalty while showing the evil that lives in the real world. This work of fiction stands out in comparison to other works written about the supernatural due to the idea of a secret worldwide organization that strives to maintain humanity's safety against demons and other monsters.

I would rate this book a three out of four[ due to the confusion I had at the beginning of the book and the sluggish rate at which the first chapters moved. However, my confusion was solved as I continued to read. The overall theme of this book was Good vs. Evil. A girl goes on a mission to find her father figure and defeat demons along the way. She gains help from a new found friend to defeat demons and appease the organization she works for. I found this to be an interesting read, and I look forward to the next book in the series to discover the fate of the two main characters, and of the father figure currently trapped by demons.

Not only did this book provide an interesting storyline, it also suggested there is more to the world we live in than we are lead to believe. This idea is created by the introduction of demons and demon worshiping cults. This story was interesting to me and I am eager to read more by its author. One question I had upon finishing this book was where is the balance of demonic and heavenly? The only thing that acted as a counter weight to the evil in the story was the hunters and the organization the hunters worked for. This leads me to wonder if Cole will introduce religion/a higher power to any future books in this series.

Finally, this story introduced the idea that any person could contain or face evil (for example a demonic power) and overcome. Each character in the story must face some sort of pain or loss such as loss of family members or demonic possession. From said pain and loss, the characters grow and develop into stronger people. Overall, this story taught me that pain loss and evil can be overcome.

To conclude, I found Raven's Peak to be a fascinating book with a thought provoking message. I enjoyed the Good vs. Evil theme, and I am looking forward to future books in this series. Cole's characters were well developed and helped to create an interesting story filled with twists and surprises.
