My Trip to Adele is a romance fiction novel written by siblings Rana Alyaser and Ahmad Alyaser. The book has two hundred and twenty seven pages and has twenty five topics and at every end of the topic there is a song of Adele that summarizes the story of the topic. The authors drew the motivation to write the book after they attended Adele's live concert in Verona.

The book's main theme is love and marriage. Lost love and broken marriage that the characters are fighting to me find and mend throughout the book. Freedom is also another theme being tackled in the book. Freedom from abusive marriages, freedom from oppressive traditions and simply freedom from anything and everything that suffocates ones life.

The book contains three story-lines. the first one is of a lost love between a prostitute Malika and a guy Elias who fall in love and are separated by distance and what Elias says is a charm from Kanza. Kanza the mother to Malika who apparently is also in love with Elias. Elias promised to meet Malika at Adele's music concert and that is the only thing that sheds hope for Malika to see Elias again. The second one is of the marriage between Yaser and Mariam that is at the verge of breaking . Yaser is tired of the wife whom he thinks is boring and an authoritarian. They think their love is fading away and so are the hopes to revive their marriage. Their trip to go to Adele's concert to revive their marriage is what actually saves it. the third one is of a completely broken marriage that cannot be mend. Nadia is already divorced to her husband and she has no intentions whatsoever of getting back with him and all she cares is making her son Waleed happy at any cost. She tries so hard to fight for freedom that she has been denied for such a long time. Adele's concert makes her to realize this freedom.

The story is a bit confusing at the start of the book. This is because one topic is completely different from the following topic but as the reader continues reading on, the events unfolds pretty well and the story seizes being confusing and starts being more interesting. The authors were able to create an atmosphere of suspense that gives the reader the urge to read more and more. Again the authors have projected the woman as a weakling who is undermined and controlled by traditions that undermine her being.

Well, the book is about Adele and her songs and this exposes the reader to a more wider concept of music and art and its importance in our lives. As much as i loved Adele, i have grown to love her even more after reading this book. The book My Trip to Adele is so interesting and captivating and i rate it as 3 out of 4 stars. I really enjoyed reading this book.
