Book Blueprint: How Any Entrepreneur Can Write an Awesome Book by Jacqui Pretty. This non-fiction book is published by Michael Hanrahan Publishing in 2015.

Putting words on paper is a fairly easy process; just take your pen or keyboard and write away, right? But, getting published or even selling your book is an altogether different game. Jacqui takes you through the process, a step by step guide on how to write an awesome book.

Book Blueprint classifies entrepreneur writers as either wannabes or authority. The authority is the one that gets published and/or all the glory that comes with it. The book is divided into four parts. These parts form the backbone of the book. What the author refers to as the right formula – applicable to both authorities and wannabes. They include;
• Right idea
• Right structure
• Right format
• Right language

Each part takes you through sequential steps on how to come up with the perfect draft. An awesome book gets published; an awesome book sells. As it communicates to the intended audience. You will learn to identify your readers, appeal to them and communicate your ideas.

The goal of any entrepreneur is to have a desirable product/service that’s a hit with the customers. To reach out to these potential clients one of the best ways is by publishing a book. This not only makes you stand out as an authority on the subject, but acts as a valuable marketing tool. Book Blueprint delivers this message well enough, a wannabe like me can follow and practice.

We all want to write what the audience loves – including this piece! But more often than naught you may find yourself drawing blanks, unable to go past a title or even come up with one. Jacqui presents the best cure in the Book Blueprint. This formula is driven by proper planning and motivation. So confident is she on this formula that she even offers a money back guarantee (page 10). I agree with the author on this. By following her simple steps I was able to polish my 8-year old draft from 2000 to over 24000 words! This brought me closer to completing my draft. I was able to refine the draft in three days after fumbling for 8-years – including ideas for a sequel. Which is very impressive.

Book Blueprint had no formatting or grammar errors, or I did not find any. The only thing I did not like was the author’s case against self-publishing. The indie author’s case is one I am passionate about. Especially those who are starting out or those that cannot get their works published. I would advise indie authors to make full use of technology. Getting your book reviewed pre-release is one way. There are many ways to go about this online (this forum is a start).

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Despite my reservations about the indie authors’ case, I understand Jacqui’s case to establish quality writing. The readers deserve the best works and it is up-to the authors to keep up. I would recommend this book to anyone with book writing in mind. Book Blueprint works; at least it did for me.

Glad you got a good copy of the book. For some reason, my copy was not compatible with my Kindle and so the formatting was really poor.

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy this book. I always prefer pdf format over any other. Unless I am using my PC to read, where I use Kindle.

I understand your concerns because all .epub books I've read so far have been badly formatted. I can't tell why.

Nazir,
Thanks, read this book. It has easy steps, described in a clear manner. To transform even a basic idea into a workable draft. Don't just take my word for it.
