Marrying a Playboy Billionaire by H M Irwing

A fast, funny, passionate and stimulating tale about two protagonists - Aria Longbottom and Justin Kay. Aria was a zaftig, who felt inadequate because of her figure and to make matters worse, she was dumped by her boyfriend for her cousin who was slim and attractive. Heart broken and self conscious, she avoided every romantic inclination, but her resolve was challenged when she met Justin again. Justin Kay was a fun-loving, handsome and hardworking Billionaire who could not forget an intense but brief encounter he had with a particular lady who snuck out on him five years earlier. Aria thought it impossible for a man like him to remember her let alone love her. An unusual proposal by Justin's mother pushed them both over the edge and they turned out to be each other's aphrodisiac. What remains to be seen is whether physical intimacy would translate into the real love that their hearts both yearned for.

Marrying a Playboy Billionaire was written by H M Irwing, it comes in 312 standard pages. The story was narrated in first person. The book subtly challenges the societal norms that dictates how a woman should look in order to be deemed beautiful and acceptable. It went to great lengths to debunk the general idea that a woman has to be slim and willowy or petite in order to find true love, laying emphasis on more important things other than physical attributes which count towards a good relationship. It also taught that good things happen to those who wait.

As an unrepentant romantic, the fact that a couple from diverse physical and economic backgrounds were able to overcome the hurdles thrown their ways, intrigues me. I am especially enamored with the fact that the female protagonist did not come in the typical slim and hourglass figure, instead it was someone who was well-endowed and curvaceous, yet she landed a man who was considered a prize. I like the familiarity of some of the situations and the progression of the story from stone cold emotions to steamy hot. I like that it teaches about self acceptance and self love.

The book was excellently edited as I did not spot any errors throughout the book. The writing style is conversational, smooth and engaging. The humor in it was quirky and sometimes, self-deprecating but it did not diminish the seriousness of the story. The characters were well developed, and not only that, they had a good quality to them. Justin, although a billionaire, was funny, passionate and respectful.

A book filled with vivid imaginative details of seductive, amorous and provocative scenes. It tells a story that shows that physical attributes has little or nothing to do with true love. Mutual respect, positive attitude and good character are more important yardsticks in ensuring a good and lasting relationship. In all , I wholeheartedly agree with the author on these.

However, I do not feel comfortable with the frequent lewd and lascivious behaviors displayed throughout the book. No reader should be subjected to so much wanton display of erotic and sexual acts described several times in the book. On this basis, I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. I did not rate it a perfect 4 because of the overwhelming sexual scenes and it is way above a 2 because it told a story that holds some salient points which people nowadays need to know.

I recommend the book to adults only, it would encourage people who have been jilted, and help people to accept themselves the way they are, and learn the act of self love. I recommend it to romantics all over.

I did not like this book. The scenes were from a female perspective. I also read and reviewed it a month ago, not published yet.

Not that am homophobic, but reading a story that's only talking about the man in the thick of things is...Yeah, not my thing.

Besides, Aria was needlessly insecure.

Excellent review Ayosinmi. I do agree with you on the sexual scenes. Too many sexual scenes makes a book annoying and shallow. However, after reading your review am convinced this book is worth checking out especially because the main female character is curvaceous and well endowed cheers to that. Atleast for once a romantic book has a female character who is not petite and a brunette.

Just my kind of book, the scenes would work well with the theme. Isn't it an erotic novel? You've written this review well.

You think? She is actually but it's not baseless. She has a reason for it. You are biased my friend.

Yes Ana. For once, we have a unique female protagonist who doesn't make others feel inadequate. ?
Thanks a lot for your comment. I appreciate it

Thank you Alicnim. It was a lot of effort not to be distracted by the erotica and stay focused on the theme of the story. The truth is that, the theme is a strong and relevant one. It definitely is an erotic novel. ?
Thanks a lot for dropping a comment. Meanwhile, can you read the book?

Well, all that matters in a relationship is true love, every man knows what he wants, stature doesn't matter. Nice review.
