"My Trip to Adele" is a novel wherein the main characters are bound to Adele's concert. The writers and siblings Ahmad and Rana Alyasser went to Verona to watch Adele's concert entitled "Album 25" and came up with their self-published account. The stories revolved around three main characters, all loving Adele's songs. All of them, broken hearted and troubled were to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. The book is a trilogy with each chapters entitled after Adele's songs.

The plot of the first story started with Kansa Malawi, bewitching Elias as she tries to ruin the beginning of a beautiful love story between Malika and Elias in El-Fnaa Square. Elias was captivated by the scent, probably the gorgeous body curves or the free spirited attitude of Malika. He has fallen for her despite family background. But the blossoming love seemed to fade so soon that he left her unexpectedly. When he met a fortune teller in Rome, he felt the urge to see Malika again and wanted to keep his promise to watch Adele's concert together. A sudden twist of fate made him realize there is something more. Something he did not expect.

The second story happened in Las Vegas, USA where the couple fell in and out of love. " My Same" was the background music played during the marriage proposal. He regarded her faith in God as something good, yet, in time, an evil he had to bear. Mariam and Yaser's marriage is coming to its end. They will try to reminisce their past by going to Adele's concert. But can they really bring back the love they once shared? It seemed vague with the presence of Isabelle.

The final story happened in Amman, Jordan. Nadia and her son are fans of Adele. Her ex husband still haunts her. She has been fighting for her son's custody and wanted to celebrate her son's birthday by watching Adele's concert. Her ex husband and her boss would do everything to pain her. She knew she needed to do drastic measures. She was doing a great job raising her son or so she thinks. Now she is torn between her pride and her grip for her one and only love.

An appealing title for Adele's fans. Her songs were well incorporated in all three stories. The character of Yaser is not consistent. He is not romantic in any way, yet, loves "Grey's Anatomy" and Adele's songs. Having been married myself, I can relate to this second story. It showed how things seemed to be working when in reality it is not. I admire the last story. There is women empowerment. The first story was unusual but not bad. I find the dialogues between Elias and Veronica as unnecessary. Some words were unusual to me like shawarma and shatter. This book is intended for the single, married and divorced individuals trying to find true love. Overall, it is well written but not perfect so I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.
