I’m a type of person that loves music. I have a playlist of reading music on my phone and that includes some songs of Adele. I can’t say that I am a fan but I enjoy her songs. And that is why when I first saw My Trip To Adele by R.I. Alyaseer and A.I. Alyaseer as the July Book of the Month, I was instantly intrigued. And the moment that I got my copy I started reading it every chance I get.

The story introduced me to three different people living three different lives on different parts of the world and how the music of Adele connected them in more ways than one. I first met Elias, a Moroccan living in Rome, Italy. He was living his life but a girl he met in the past keeps hunting his heart. His unease will make him revisit the place they first met, but will he find the closure that he is looking for? Or will he rekindle a love that is long lost by the help of Adele?

After Elias, I was then transported to Las Vegas, USA where a man named Yaser tries to revive a marriage that is broken for almost eight years. Yaser finds out that the foundation of his love to his wife Mariam wasn’t that strong. And Mariam’s tight hold on everything seems to worsen as the days pass. Will they ever find their way back to the love they hold before it is too late? Will a certain song of Adele help them or will it only cause more friction?

And last but not the least; I met Nadia, a divorced lady living in Amman, Jordan with her 10 years old son Waleed. They both love Adele so Nadia decided to bring her son to Verona for Adele’s concert to celebrate his birthday, only to encounter some issues beforehand. Nadia decided to use her newly found freedom to fight for what she believes in. But is this freedom really helping her? Or was it only causing more problems that might also affect Waleed?

As I go and read the different point of views more question enter my mind. I find this book really engaging as I like the idea of having multiple protagonists. Each character has their own different ways of handling the situations that they are in. I must say that I relate to Yaser more than I actually expected. The way he realized so many things and the way he tries his best to make things better touched me on a personal level. I also love how the authors depict each place in the book. It makes you feel like you are physically experiencing and seeing the places. You can also see how each places mentioned had its impact on each of the characters personalities making them all different but somehow relatable.

I will rate this book a 3 out of 4 because despite the fact that I enjoyed reading the story I noticed that there is a part wherein some people might have an issue with. But aside from that this is a good book. And if you happen to be a fan of Adele I can say that you will like that each of the chapters on this book is named after each of Adele’s songs on her album 25. This book is certainly worth the read.
