I really enjoyed reading Beyond Despair by Shirley Hoisington. The author did a great job of keeping the reader guessing about what would happen next. Just when I thought I had the story figured out, it took a surprising turn. With all of the ups and downs in the character's life, I found myself laughing out loud at some parts and then having my heart hurt wanting to cry for Miranda in others. I can just imagine the heartache she felt over her sister's wedding, the move to a new city, and the blooming relationship she finds. I couldn't put the book down, and I was disappointed when it ended. I would give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is appropriate for all readers, but teens and up would get more out of it. That way, they'd better understand the feelings that the author wanted to portray. The editing was professional-level, and I didn't spot any mistakes. I was so engrossed with the book that I might have missed one or two, but I didn't find any. There was very light sexual content in Beyond Despair. As a reader, I knew what was going to happen, but there were no specifics there were just a few details of the before and after. I found no curse words. They talked of someone cursing but never said the words.

My only suggestion, Shirley Hoisington, would be to provide me with additional reading material. I am interested in exploring different characters' perspectives in greater depth. Specifically, I would love to read about Brian's emotional struggles. Additionally, a book detailing the relationship between the sister and her husband before their marriage would be intriguing.

I cannot recommend Beyond Despair enough to my fellow readers. Shirley Hoisington's writing is nothing short of impressive, and I am consistently amazed by her ability to make me feel every emotion experienced by the characters. In fact, I am even searching for other books written by her. If you're looking for a captivating read that will take you on an emotional journey, then Beyond Despair is the book for you.
