"Apollo's Raven" by Linnea Tanner is a captivating blend of historical fiction and fantasy, weaving a tale of Princess Catrin, the Celtic princess destined for greatness with a raven spirit. Tasked with overturning a curse upon her father, King Amren, Catrin faces familial betrayal as her half-brother allies with the Romans, setting off a chain of events that intertwines her destiny with that of Marcellus, son of Roman Senator Lucius Antonius. Amidst political turmoil and forbidden love, Catrin navigates a world of druids and shape-shifting, showcasing her unwavering dedication to her family, her burgeoning love for Marcellus, and her heroic efforts to save her people. Can Princess Catrin be able to save her people amid all these struggles?
 
The book is a journey into a world where history, mythology, and fantasy intertwine to create a rich and compelling narrative. Tanner's storytelling brings to life the ancient setting and the struggles of its characters, particularly Princess Catrin, whose courage, loyalty, and forbidden love captivate me from beginning to end. The seamless blend of historical facts with imaginative elements like magic and shape-shifting adds depth and intrigue to the story, making it a truly captivating reading experience. 
 
My favorite character in "Apollo's Raven" is Princess Catrin. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and people make her a compelling protagonist. Catrin's journey of self-discovery as she grapples with her destiny, her love for Marcellus, and her responsibilities as a princess is inspiring. Catrin's determination to protect those she loves makes her a standout character in the novel. The book is perfectly edited, and there is nothing I dislike about the book.
 
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for two reasons. Firstly, the seamless blend of historical fiction with elements of mythology and fantasy creates a unique and captivating reading experience that appeals to a wide range of readers. Secondly, the well-developed characters, particularly Princess Catrin, are relatable and engaging, drawing readers into their world and making them care deeply about their struggles and triumphs.
 
I would recommend "Apollo's Raven" to readers who enjoy historical fiction with a twist of fantasy and mythology. It's perfect for those who are fascinated by ancient civilizations, particularly Celtic culture, and enjoy stories that blend real historical events with imaginative storytelling.
