Heaven and Earth by Arturo Riojas is a Science fiction book that portrays unity amongst four different beings that work together to save the Earth. They must work fast and as a team to save the humans. Their plan involves breaking the law in order to make things right. Three extraterrestrial beings approach the humans offering help at a price. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but in this case, it might. We get to find out whether the two groups come to an agreement eventually.
The plot is inventive, well-written, with great vibrant and photographic illustrations. The different characters play out their roles in an amusing way. What struck me the most was that the author highlights an unlawful theory where the government has cures to diseases but prefers making money by providing treatment instead. This move was well thought of and an eye opener to many. This was a brave fearless move by the author.
The author takes no sides when addressing certain issues affecting the human life. He talks about health issues affecting the society such as Cadmium poisoning. The metal is responsible for causing cancer. This a thought-provoking issue that creates awareness to all readers. Personally, I had no idea on the adverse effects of Cadmium. The author goes ahead and includes the Tuskegee study of untreated syphilis. His interest in health matters in commendable.
The book is both entertaining and interesting. I tend to agree with the author on the theory of hoarding cure to make more money treating diseases. This is because this is a major problem in some countries. It is an intriguing book that discusses health issues affecting the society such as cancer caused by Cadmium poisoning. I was impressed by the educative facts on the occurrence of cadmium and how it causes poisoning to body organs. Incorporation of cancer awareness through metal poisoning is educative as many people have no idea.
I did not notice any spelling or grammatical errors hence the reader gives the book maximum attention without destructions. The author’s style of writing is very intriguing and thought-provoking. One of the best things about this book is that it expounds on the health, pain and suffering difficulties faced. It also creates awareness on cadmium poisoning and its adverse effects. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is amusing to read. It made me feel re-energized. I have no hesitation recommending this book to all readers.
