My Trip to Adele by R.I. Alyaseer and A.I. Alyaseer captures the trials and tribulations of the three characters who find of mind, with a gentle push from the lyrics of Adele's beautiful music. A divorced mother, Nadia, whose only wish is to take her son to see his favorite artist, Adele, in concert, is bombarded with irrationalities and conflict between her and her ex-husband. Nadia proves to be rebellious but is willing to sacrifice it all for the sake of her son's happiness and the strength of their relationship.

Elias is unsure of what it is he seeks in the streets of Marrakesh. To rekindle love? Closure? He travels back to where it all began. The scent of Jasmine, the intimate walks. Memories flood back in a flush of guilt, relief, and uncertainty as he realizes that he may find what he is looking for back in Verona.

Yaser and his wife have troubles in their marriage. The spark that once brought them together, has long gone out. Yaser feels deep down there is no point but puts forth the effort anyway. He hopes that his attempt to revive his marriage with a spontaneous trip will be appreciated.

Each chapter concludes with an excerpt from Adele's songs. This really gives you an idea of how the characters are feeling in the moment. I listened to a few of Adele's songs while reading My Trip to Adele and it really made me feel like I was in the story. I also felt intimacy with the characters when the lyrics pertained to my own life.

This book really gave me the feels. I felt a swarm of emotions during this read. There were a few times I had to take a moment just to cry, happy and sad tears. At times, I had to put the book down out of pure anger, and it would take me a few days to get back into it.

I give this book, My Trip to Adele by R.I. Alyaseer & A.I. Alyaseer, 3 out of 4 stars. I gave this book a 3-star review because I like how this book had me on an emotional roller coaster. Unexpecting events here and there kept me intrigued. Some nights I found myself unable to put the book down. While reading My Trip to Adele, I did a little research about Moroccan culture and found it even more beautiful. If you're a fan of Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat Pray Love, you may enjoy this book.
