Yesterday by Samyann is a romance novel about finding love and reincarnation. In a way it is a historical romance as well because of the past lives aspect. It tells of love, loss and family. This book takes the reader on a journey one would not expect to go on.

Amanda Parker and Mark Callahan are complete strangers, but there is something between them. Neither knows what it could be but both are determined to find out. The book begins with Amanda saving the life of Mark; the story gets crazier from there. Amanda saves Mark’s life, but as they start to get to know each other they realize something is familiar. Each swears they know one another yet they have never met. As they dig deeper into the connection they learn they loved each other before. Does that mean they can love each other in this life?

The book Yesterday had some great aspects and some not so great. For starters the book itself was entertaining to read, so much that I did not want to stop reading it. The characters work well together and the aspect of reincarnation is described well. Another great aspect is the way the author described the places, people and events. There was not that many “romance scenes” which can be taken as good or bad depending on who is reading. On to the bad qualities, the bad language and how it shifted. There was not too much foul language, but the one that was used a lot was uncalled for. The Lord’s name should not be taken in vain, even if they are fictional characters. The shifting of the book was a little confusing, not so much the time shift but gaps between events.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The use of actual historic facts and places won this reader over. As far as grammatical errors go there were hardly any. There was a part of the book where I did not know if the author meant break or brick. Readers who like romance novels or historical books would find this book interesting.

Yesterday is a tale of romance that can spread across time. It is proof that true love and soul mates will find each other. The thought of reincarnation is intriguing; it makes the reader question who they use to be. Great book, would recommend to others.
