[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Kelly and Tom, fresh from their wedding celebrations, embark on an enchanting honeymoon adventure in Honduras. During their solo exploration, Kelly stumbles upon an intriguing shop. To her surprise, hidden within its unassuming walls lies a secret laboratory. As she grapples to understand her surroundings, shadowy figures begin pursuing her. Kelly promptly shares her discoveries with her brother, Mike McBride. The shop serves as a hub for the enemy's missile attacks on North America. McBride, a U.S. Senator, swiftly dispatches his security team, led by the capable Cynthia, to Honduras for further investigation. Now, the CIA, Space Force, and McBride's team must urgently collaborate to devise a rescue plan. Will they thwart the impending threat before catastrophe strikes? The answers await within the gripping pages of this cybercrime thriller."
In E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer, a suspenseful novel inspired by real-world conflicts, readers follow the couple Tom and Kelly on their honeymoon as they become entangled in a global power struggle. The story takes readers on a roller coaster ride with unexpected twists and emotional highs and lows. Despite the danger, Tom and Kelly's love story adds a heartwarming touch. The book is narrated from a neutral perspective, allowing readers to experience the entire thrilling adventure.
The part of the book that I liked the most was the valuable insights into the concept of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and the potential danger posed by solar flares. The characters exemplified commendable traits such as teamwork and honesty. Overall, I found no issues with the book. A standout element in the story is Senator Mike McBride’s unwavering love and protective instincts toward his younger sister, Kelly. His commitment to her safety knows no bounds, and his actions to ensure her well-being are truly commendable. I found no dislikes in this book; it was a great read all the way through.
The book underwent meticulous editing, and I couldn’t spot any errors. I’d confidently rate it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. While it caters well to fans of the crime and action genres, less seasoned readers might find certain concepts not so easy to grasp.
