Review of Apollo's Raven
[Following is a volunteer review of "Apollo's Raven" by Linnea Tanner.]
Apollo's Raven: Book One in the Curse of the Clansmen and Kings Series by Linnea Tanner is a historical fantasy that was set in 24 AD in Britannia. Seven years ago, King Anrem made a fateful decision that would forever alter the course of his kingdom: the banishment of his son, Marrock, from his kingdom, Cantiaci. However, there is a curse on the kingdom that has to do with Princess Catrin and her banished brother. The princess is trained and has good intentions, but what about her brother? Will her gift with ravens help? Get a copy of this book to find out.
I loved how the characters in this book were developed. My favorite character was Princess Catrin, a young woman haunted by visions of a skull-faced moon—a portentous omen that continues to unsettle her dreams. The author's writing style is also engaging and not predictable. Tanner captures the essence of internal conflicts within royal families and kingdoms, evoking a sense of empathy and understanding within me. We can all relate to the frustration of having our good deeds go unappreciated, and so many things struck a chord in me while reading the book.
I recommend Apollo's Raven: Book One in the Curse of the Clansmen and Kings Series by Linnea Tanner to those who love reading historical fiction, especially when it concerns kingdoms and empires that are in conflict. I guarantee that you will enjoy this book. This is the first book in a series, and the author did a good job of laying a good foundation for the other books that follow. This book was exceptionally well edited, with no grammatical or typographical errors. It is my pleasure to rate it 5 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed reading the book, and there was nothing I disliked about it. While its captivating narrative and rich plot make it an enthralling read for young adults and teenagers alike, it is important to note that the novel also contains profanities and sexual content.
