However, his morality and family values are greatly lacking. We see him hiking with his buddy, and his buddy is in danger. What kind of man will Hiram exhibit? Will he help his friend or leave him at such a critical time?

William H. Coles' McDowell is a novel that explores the dangerous effects of greed on an accomplished general surgeon and a somewhat devoted father. I love that this book highlights the negative effects of video games on children and how playing such games can transform even the most docile child into a cruel and merciless individual. It calls into question whether it's time for society to examine the impact of these games on children and take appropriate measures to address this growing concern.

Another issue that the book raises is the need for balanced and objective journalism. In the book, the author emphasizes the importance of the mainstream media, which is a powerful tool for shaping public perception. However, it also highlights the need for accountability in journalism and the dangers of the media being used as a propaganda tool.
