Raven´s Peak, the first book of the World on Fire series has one of the best starting chapters that I have read, and the good news, is that Raven´s Peak doesn´t let you down throughout the story; every chapter has it´s twists and with every new challenging situation gets more and more exciting.
This supernatural thriller book embrace you with the story of Haatim, a young blogger who turns out to have faith issues after his sister died, and Abigail, a professional hunter of demons that follow orders from a worldwide Council that has problems with trusting anyone. This two characters have a very strong connection, it seems like they could hang out pretty well, even after considering the entire situation evolving around them because you could feel their deep emotions and the similarities between them.
Haatim starts tailing her has a small job offered by a stranger, she was aware of his work, but she didn´t do anything about it until she realized that his photos will put her life in danger; surprisingly, the situation changes when Haatim turns out to be a potential victim on the chain of events towards her mission. Which makes them get into a trip that lead to turmoil of situations involving supernatural scenes, demons hunter and secrets kept for years, which make two strangers get closer than ever before, they even save each other´s life in every battle that gets on their way.
After Abigail first mission, Haatim decides to join her into an investigation at the small town of Raven´s Peak, where apparently people has reported some strange things. While they investigate, they both get forced to face their darkest fears in order to survive and keep the world has a better place.
I got surprised when I finished the book, never thought that this will be a story that would make me want to keep reading. I just want to know what´s going to happen next. What I like more of the book was the way the characters were described; I could picture them on every scene like it was a movie. That´s why I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars, not only because there were no bad spellings or grammars on the book but because is really well written, also I loved the characters, which made me feel like I could understand their feelings. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone that likes thriller stories mixed with mystery and crime, I´m sure that Lincoln Cole won´t let you down.
