Review of The Glorious Beast!
"The Glorious Beast!" by Scott L. Chally.
The story follows Ricky and Jimmy in 2017 as they navigate their daily lives and contemplate a significant career change. Ricky lives with Jimmy's family, including Jimmy's younger brother, Jason. Jimmy and his father, Scott, work together at a factory, where Jimmy has been increasingly worried about safety following a frightening vision of losing fingers in an accident. During a conversation over breakfast, Jimmy expresses his doubts about continuing in the factory job despite its good pay. Ricky discusses the idea with Jimmy, who becomes enthusiastic about the possibility of becoming his own boss and leaving the factory job.
Ricky, anticipating a significant day with Molly, shows up at a supermarket in his underwear to impress her. And reminding Molly of her promise. Molly moves in with Ricky, who reassures her about their future. Justin and Freddie, who work for a moving company, face mishaps during their deliveries, causing property damage. Despite these issues, they complete their tasks. Later, they move an elderly woman, Mrs. Luber, who gives Justin a box. Scott's intense visions and actions, driven by a sense of divine mission, led to a chaotic journey and a missed psychiatric appointment, culminating in a tense, rushed visit to the VA hospital. His behavior highlights the severe impact of his mental state on his actions and relationships.
I noticed these learnings in the book, for which I give it 5 out of 5 stars. The story highlights the importance of following passions and dreams, even when it involves significant risk and change. It emphasizes the role of family support in making life-changing decisions. Ricky and Jimmy’s decision to start their own business reflects their entrepreneurial spirit and their willingness to seize opportunities to create a better future. The book combined elements of humor, romance, and drama to explore themes of desire, commitment, and the unpredictability of life. It emphasizes the lengths to which individuals will go to fulfill promises and desires. The book also highlights how people cope with unexpected situations and their efforts to maintain stability and happiness amidst chaos.
The book "The Glorious Beast!" by Scott L. Chally is well edited and has no flaws in reducing the reading experience. That's why I haven't found any dislikes about his book. This book is best suited for readers who enjoy romantic and dramatic stories with a mix of humor, quirky characters, and unexpected situations. It appeals to those who appreciate unconventional love stories and emotional and interpersonal conflicts.
