Farmer Beau's Farm is a children's book by Kathleen Geiger, a retired Third-grade teacher at the Grand Ridge School, in Grand Ridge. Illinois. She loves baking, substitute teaching, babysitting, and sewing, while her husband, Frank, a retired farmer, loved working in his spacious gardens taking care of his flowers. With her granddaughters' help, she chose the different animals featured in the book to create the storyline.

As Farmer Beau was tending the garden one day, six precious kittens sprang out of his garage. The kittens played hide-and-seek in the flowers as Beau and Bamma sat in their courtyard (patio) sipping their coffee while they watched the kittens play. This incident inspired Kathleen to write this book.

The kittens grew up, and one by one, started leaving the farm, even though Farmer Beau made sure they never went hungry. Since Beau and Bamma enjoyed having the kittens around, it made them sad that the kittens left. Beau decided to build a house for the only kitten that remained, which they named "Kailey". After a while, Kailey kitten received a new friend "Sammy Bunny" who, also, was looking for a place to stay. As their friendship grew, they realized that Beau's farm wasn't an ordinary farm when Beau decided to bring an unusual animal to the farm.

Each kind of animal the author introduces to the farm keeps the reader guessing the relationship that would develop amongst the animals. There are plenty of lessons to learn from Farmer Beau's Farm with the amazing blend of animals that Beau and Bamma build. This clearly demonstrates that we can establish strong relationships even though we are different in many ways, and it makes Beau's farm magical.

The author puts the plot in two settings; one involves Beau and Bamma in their daily life on the farm, and the other involves the animals as they gradually get to know each other and establish a great friendship. She makes it seamless for the reader to navigate from one setting to another, thus the reader isn't lost but feels part of the narration.

This book will be helpful to teachers and parents in educating kids aged 14 and below, with beautiful pictures that will keep the children engrossed even after they finish reading it. However, children above 14 years may find the book too low for them, though they can still have fun reading it. There were no conspicuous grammar, or editing errors and therefore, I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars.
