"Figments of Persuasion Field Guide" by Nancy L. Vallette is a unique creation that revolves around various ‘Figments’—imaginary creatures that, while invisible to the naked eye, play a significant role in our lives. This book offers readers an in-depth exploration of these fictional beings, detailing their characteristics, habitats, and the ways they can influence human thought and emotion.
The narrative spans the entirety of human life, from childhood to old age, describing Figments that embody our emotions in various situations. It also delves into Figments that arise from shared emotions with others, creating a rich tapestry of interconnectedness. These Figments resemble the imaginary world of children, filled with fairies and goblins, suggesting that those who dismiss such imaginings live a dull and colorless existence. Each emotion, when embodied by a Figment, produces a unique entity.
One of the central themes of "Figments of Persuasion Field Guide" is the power of imagination and belief. Vallette explores how Figments, though fictional, can represent real psychological and emotional forces. Vallette has done a wonderful job creating unique content. I was captivated by the book’s cover and its genre, "graphic novels and comics." As a lover of this genre, I absolutely adored every aspect of the book. The illustrations, beautifully rendered by artist Don Stephenson, enhance the narrative and aid in understanding the concepts easily.
The book evoked my childhood memories when my imagination knew no bounds. I could relate to the various types of Figments presented in the book. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed "Figments of Persuasion Field Guide" and would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. There was nothing I disliked about the book.
