This story sweeps readers into the quaint, mystical town of Tinker’s Grove, Wisconsin, where myth and supernatural forces converge. It opens dramatically with Walter Johnson's daring escape from the river demon Piasa, setting the stage for Conor Archer’s journey from Chicago to his ancestral home. Conor, grappling with personal tragedy and the discovery of his supernatural lineage, finds himself thrust into a world of ancient prophecies and hidden powers. Supported by a cast of diverse characters, Conor navigates grief, newfound abilities, and the weight of his destiny. As he uncovers the secrets of his heritage and battles the forces of darkness, Conor’s quest becomes a compelling tale of courage, resilience, and the search for identity in a world steeped in both mystery and danger.

"Roan: The Tales of Conor Archer" by E.R. Barr is a captivating blend of urban fantasy and ancient mythologies. Set in the mysterious town of Tinker’s Grove, the story follows Conor Archer, who discovers his Celtic heritage amidst personal tragedy intertwined with Native American folklore. Barr’s storytelling is compelling, drawing you into Conor's journey from a grieving teenager to a reluctant hero with extraordinary abilities. The plot is fast-paced yet richly complex, balancing moments of introspection with thrilling action sequences. Themes of destiny, family legacy, and the battle between light and darkness are skillfully interwoven, making the storyline more interesting and a compelling read that lingers in your mind. It’s a must-read for fans of urban fantasy and anyone who enjoys a fresh twist on supernatural fiction.

There was nothing to dislike about this book. The storyline is not conventional. Conor’s character development is one that everyone will enjoy. This book deserves only a full rating, so I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It was an interesting and enjoyable read. The editing was also top-notch, as I found no errors in it.
