In the world of Voulhire, a land of ancient magic and technological advancement, the kingdom of Voulhire stands as a beacon of hope for those fleeing the turmoil of the Four Kingdoms. Under his leadership, King Wilhelm, the wise and just ruler, has fostered a prosperous nation in which citizens thrive. However, not all are content with Voulhire's success, and threats emerge in the form of the nomadic Riva Rohavi army and Dalehei Meldorath, a power-hungry mage with a dark past. As tensions rise, Voulhire's fate hangs in the balance, and its people must band together to overcome the challenges ahead.

Amidst this turmoil, a young man named Galen Bray arrives in Voulhire, seeking a new life and a chance to build a legacy. With the help of Rowan, the executor of his late uncle's estate, Galen settles into his new home in Magnum Caelum and begins to forge a career as a blacksmith. Meanwhile, the trusted noble Lord Eldus takes on the task of restoring the troubled town of Hillport, where the dark memories of former rulers continue to linger. As Eldus works to revive the town's happiness with the aid of his family, the stage is set for a tale of resilience, hope, and the unbreakable spirit of the people of Voulhire.

"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is a captivating and well-crafted novel that seamlessly blends elements of magic, science fiction, and adventure. The book’s world-building is meticulously constructed and rich in detail. The author's use of descriptive sequences effectively transports readers to the world of Voulhire, making it easy for them to fully immerse themselves in the story.

I particularly appreciated the way the author introduced major characters, locations, and traditions through dedicated sections, making it easy to follow along and become invested in their journeys. The characterization is also exceptional, with each character boasting unique traits and promising development in future novels.

While I enjoyed the book immensely, I did find the absence of guns in a world with technological progress to be peculiar. However, this isn’t enough to make me dislike anything about the book. The book is also flawlessly edited, as there were no grammar errors or typos. Hence, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

I would highly recommend this book to fans of action-packed fantasy novels, particularly those who enjoy magic and science fiction. However, due to the presence of foul language, violence, and mature themes, I would advise younger audiences (under the age of sixteen) to exercise caution.
