[Following is a volunteer review of "Ruth Ready" by Kitty Arceneaux.]
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Kitty Arceneaux's "Ruth Ready" delves deeply and perceptively into the concepts of faith, tenacity, and divine purpose. The biblical tale of Ruth and Boaz is examined in this book as a means of assisting married or single women in their exploration of happiness and love.
This book investigates the marriage lessons that Ruth and Boaz's story has to offer. This book uses Ruth's story from the Bible as inspiration to provide important lessons about faith, tenacity, and divine purpose. Ruth's steadfast faith and fortitude shine through her struggles and victories, providing inspiration and hope to others.
My favourite parts of this book are the exercises at the conclusion of each chapter, which add to its interactive nature, and the simple, approachable writing style that lets the book's main ideas come through without needless complexity. I particularly adored how the author deftly combines biblical ideas with real-world difficulties, giving readers helpful guidance on how to face life's ups and downs with confidence and grace.
This book has nothing to dislike. Even if the novel is full of spiritual truths, people who aren't big fans of religious fiction could find it less interesting. Furthermore, and maybe to the chagrin of some readers, this book delves into the biblical roles of the husband as the leader and the wife as the subservient. The book's pacing may be a turnoff for certain readers, particularly those who prefer a faster-paced book.
I did not find a single mistake in this book, which speaks highly of its editing. Overall, this book is deserving of a five out of five-star rating due to its flawless prose, simple writing style, and realistic and compelling storytelling that enable readers to easily identify with Ruth's journey on a personal level.
I would suggest this book to anyone looking for direction on how to discover love using biblical allusions as a means of spiritual sustenance and encouragement.
