[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
“E M P Honeymoon,” by Dorothy May Mercer, narrates the story of newly married couple Kelly and Tom, who went to the Caribbean to celebrate their honeymoon, but instead they prevented a terrorist plan to bomb North America. Instead of enjoying their honeymoon, they must stop the insurgents.
After their wedding, they engaged in their honeymoon vacation in Honduras, having in mind that Honduras would be the best place to enjoy each other's time. While traveling, they arrive in La Pocilga, where they discover a secret laboratory in the form of a tourist shop. In these, it is not realized by the characters that the laboratory is used in a terrorist context. The story moves very quickly, with numerous interesting characters and conflicts: between Kelly and Tom, Mike and Peter, and Sharon and Steve. The novel is tightly constructed but, at the same time, saturated with action. Despite this, every chapter is provided with the best details needed to capture the reader's attention. It also paints a clear picture of the dangers of the use of nuclear electromagnetic pulses. Written in the third person, the character's point of view changes smoothly from one plot line to another, making it a thrilling book.
What I liked about this book was how the author manipulated characters in order to enhance the readability of the book. The sequences in the particular chapters were packed with operations, thereby making the plot interesting and creative. All in all, it was interesting and quite an active read.
There was nothing about the book that I could say I disliked. The plots of the book are well developed and arranged to fit the title appropriately. The book is exceptionally well edited; there is not a single error in the entire book. I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars , and that is because I have no reason to deduct any number of points from it. I recommend this book for fans of crime and investigation, action novels and adventures, and those who seek humor.
