[Following is a volunteer review of "The Move" by O K Johnson.]
The Move by O.K. Johnson is an important Christian book, that the author uses to showcase our relationship with God. Johnson emphasizes how important it is to make it a personal endeavor to seek God to create that binding relationship with Him. This book showcases how superior modern-day biblical relationships with God appear compared to traditional ones. Faith and trust in God are other aspects of Christian life that this book illustrates through the couples’ lives as narrated by the author. Moving into a new home where the husband has already decided to make their very last home, whereas his wife is not much considered about the “last home” notion but the task ahead, of serving God and ministering from that new home and new house, inspires the reader with the commitment to follow God’s instructions and serve Him.
The author has discussed several biblical aspects including; putting God first ahead of everything, consistent Bible reading, faith, ministering in the house of God, miracles in Christian life, forgiveness, heeding the call of God to go on his mission, importance of prayer as a foundation of everything we wish to be successful, enduring hardships in pursuit of God, and forgiveness. The Move is a Christian journey worth going through.
One aspect that made me love this book is how the author molded the whole chapter under an introductory bible verse at the top of every chapter. The author remained descriptive to emphasize the setting of every chapter and keep the reader in the present. Besides, I acknowledge the lessons this book leaves to every reader who takes time to read and internalize every chapter. It is a great book with many lessons to shape one's Christian journey. Patti and her husband gave their best to God through ministering. Their commitment to preach to small groups and their neighbors was worth noting as an inspiration to everyone keen to spread the gospel.
I did not find anything in this book to make me dislike it. The author has used straightforward language that everyone can understand.
I give this book a 5 out of 5-star rating. I did not come across grammar errors. Johnson authors a book that is deep in lessons for everyone keen to learn from the couples in the book. I recommend this book to Christians who wish to grow their faith and learn more about their relationship with God.
