Review of NICO

[Following is a volunteer review of "NICO" by Marlene Rattigan.]
Nico, the charming cockatoo, is truly a natural performer. While at home, he enjoys entertaining Kim and her friends with his tricks and clever mimicry. When Kim is away at school, Nico spends his time either observing other birds or peacefully resting. He patiently awaits her return. However, the summer holidays bring a change in the routine. Kim accompanies her mother to their family-owned flower shop, which keeps her away from home for extended periods, leaving Nico lonely and sad.
Recognizing Nico's distress, Kim and her mother take him along. Being surrounded by a larger audience brings joy back into Nico's life. However, an unexpected turn of events results in Nico and Kim becoming separated. To find out whether Nico and Kim reunite, one must delve into the heartwarming pages of the book Nico, beautifully crafted by Marlene Rattigan and vividly illustrated by Sergio Drumond.
