Review of Quest: Finding Freddie

[Following is a volunteer review of "Quest: Finding Freddie" by Thomas Richard Spradlin.]
Frederick David Nachman, President and CEO of Nachman International Trading Corporation (NITC), took a calculated risk in 1976, deciding it was the opportune time to secure a telecommunications contract with Nigeria. This move held the promise of significant growth and success for the company.
However, this decision was made in a tumultuous geopolitical climate. The assassination attempt on General Murtala Muhammed and the subsequent executions, along with 'Israel's Entebbe Rescue Mission,' significantly altered the international landscape, posing unforeseen challenges to the business deal. On August 14, 1976, Frederick, known as "Freddie," never returned while briefly walking from his hotel.
The author of this book then explains, in immense detail and clarity, the thrilling and fearful journey in attempting to rescue this specific man, Freddie, from whatever situation he was experiencing and who captured him.
From beginning to end, this book has been nothing but fascination, excitement, curiosity, and thrill concerning what would lead to this sudden work of a 'detective' (being the author). The author's determination and intelligence in explaining the occurrences is truly inspiring. The fact that this book is based on real-life events adds to the sense of amazement!
It is without a doubt that the loss of a loved one can be devastating, for the knowledge of where they could be is unknown, and that information is complicated and impossible to retrieve. Throughout this book, the author's suspenseful storytelling kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering whether Freddie would be found and if he would be found alive. The author's skill in maintaining this level of intrigue without giving any indications concerning a good outcome is truly commendable. The only way of knowing is through reading the entire book!
Indeed, this book deserves a five out of five stars for how the author described everything clearly and in detail. I enjoyed reading the author's use of words and his descriptions of the many places he's visited throughout his journey. All those who pick up a copy of this book will receive satisfaction!
