Review of Deceit

[Following is a volunteer review of "Deceit" by Vernon Baumrind.]
This book chronicles the measures a husband will take to catch his cheating wife red-handed. Such a stunt is necessary if he is going to get any shot at keeping his children in his custody.
Deceit: A True Story of Domestic Infidelity and Betrayal with Salacious Details Recorded by Wiretap by Vernon Baumrind is a book about Vernon and his wife Linda. At some point in their marriage, it dawns on Vernon that it's not working out for them anymore. Eventually, he can make out on his own that his wife has been cheating with Dr. James Ewing. This betrayal stabbed him hard, but he still holds his composure. He values his children more than anything in the world, and if he is to get custody of them, he has to come up with concrete proof of his wife's infidelity. Will Vernon be able to catch his wife red-handed? Read this book to find out.
Although this book is set decades ago, I still enjoy how the author tells the story and brings up every detail about their past. I like how he is honest in sharing his wife's infidelity. It is not easy to share with the public how you were made a fool out of, and so I appreciate him for this bold step. Another aspect of this book that I like is that it helps the reader understand the legal aspect of divorce. There are so many intricacies that surround divorce, and I was glad to have learned some in the book. Hopefully, I will never need to deploy such knowledge or seek counsel.
I found no errors in this book, and this indicates that it was perfectly edited. As for criticisms, there is nothing that I dislike about this book. I liked the whole story, and although this event happened a long time ago, I still sympathize with the author because it wasn't easy on his end.
I rate this book five out of five stars for its exceptional storyline and the entertaining narrative that it offers. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys true stories about divorce, and this one is set to capture you.
