[Following is a volunteer review of "Snatched Up to Heaven!" by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul.]
Jemima Paul and her husband, Arvind Paul, moved from India to Los Angeles. They live deeply rooted in the Christian faith and have instilled the same love of God in their three daughters, Priyanka, Deepika, and Keerthana. In this book, Snatched Up to Heaven, they take us on an interesting and mind-blowing journey, where we learn about heaven and hell and what they look like through the eyes and visions of their children, Priyanka and Deepika.
Jemima holds a doctorate in Christian education and is fascinated with heaven. Imagine her excitement when her daughters, Priyanka and Deepika, approach her and say they dreamt about heaven. Although their mother initially dismissed their words, she lent an ear. Listening to their testimony as a reader, you'll realize how beautiful and peaceful heaven is. She narrates how her children traveled to heaven and met Jesus, who lives there. They also narrate where hell is located, what it looks like, who is found there, and what happens in hell while comparing it to heaven. These visions were more believable since the two children had them simultaneously. What are the chances they both had the same dream at the same time?
One of the many things I like about this book is the inclusion of biblical references to back up the children's visions. I like that the parents did not try to add or subtract from the children's visions; instead, they wrote it as it was and then included their interpretations and thoughts. Including links to videos of Priyanka and Deepika's testimonies about heaven and hell was the perfect touch. I also liked that the parents lent a listening ear to the children even though it seemed absurd for them to wake up and claim they dreamt about heaven; this shows their love and respect for their children and depicts them as great role models for future parents.
I recommend this book to Christians and Christian parents, as it contains much knowledge to unpack. Children can also read it. I'm rating this book five out of five stars because I disliked nothing about it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Apart from a few grammatical errors, which did not affect my reading, it is well-written and professionally edited.
