Looking back on my years of active sports, I realize it wasn’t easy to play, let alone teach others, a new game. However, in a brief period, Kalliope Barlis—the author of the book Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book—has managed both feats in a game she has described as “the most difficult game known to athletes.”

The secret to Barlis’ success lies in a revolutionary approach she learned from her golf coach, Chuck Hogan. Her coach’s belief statement, “Everything in this world, this universe, is reflected in every cell of your body,” became a rallying call for her to achieve everything she ever dreamed about.

Unlike her first book, this one is light on the subject and easy to carry around in a pocket or handbag. The book has a lot of exercises geared towards bringing that desired change into one’s life, not just in the game of golf. Since golf has different shots, some of the exercises are about how to make the shots remarkable. The book uses Neurolinguistic Programming [NLP] terms, such as ‘anchoring,’ to promote positive change where the shot is good, and ‘reversing the memory,’ where the shot is bad.

I liked this book because it featured mental skills that can be applied to any area of life. I plan to make a career change, but I get terrified even trying. Through reading this book, I am more aware of myself through my five senses, and I can now make the career change I desire. Also, I didn’t find anything to dislike in the book. The book was exceptionally edited.

To conclude, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone in a rut and looking to find inspiration. On the other hand, the book may disappoint a few golf enthusiasts because it doesn’t conform to the usual golf nomenclature.
