Review of Breksta's Academy

[Following is a volunteer review of "Breksta's Academy" by Natasha Quay.]
Breksta Vilkas, a Dreamer, is captured and forced to adapt to the laws and regulations of the Non-Dreamers’ Academy. These are people with the resolve to wipe out the dreamers. Cadets recruited into the academy are professionally trained to kill at sight. When Breksta was forced into the academy, the director assumed her powers would become subdued. The war against Dreamers could affect humanity, and its effects are gradually becoming significant. Who can stand in the gap to bring an end to this war and violence? Get this book to find out.
I find Natasha Quay’s “Breksta's Academy” intriguing and entertaining. Again, I admire the author’s creativity in creating predictability in the plot. These lead to unexpected plot twists that keep readers engaged until the end. The book revolves around topics such as friendship, revenge, sacrifice, war, and violence. There is proper character development, as we see some characters advance from fear to discovering their purpose in life.
The bond shared between Breksta and Hestia is unmatchable, despite coming from two opposite sides of the coin. Their friendship helps add some depth and charm to the plot. Hestia’s character is proof that good can still be found amid evil. I enjoyed reading the backstory, and I was horrified when I learnt how Breksta's mother died.
I have no reservations about the book. I didn't like how much backstory was not given about the director. It's necessary, as readers can see the motivations behind her scheming motives. However, this is a minor issue, and it didn't stop me from enjoying the book. The plot is unique and original, and I found no errors while reading. Hence, it is perfectly edited. For the reasons above, I award it 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to young adults who enjoy reading books on both fiction and magic.
