[Following is a volunteer review of "Soul Seeker" by Kaylin McFarren.]
The novel Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren revolves around the sad life the main character Benjamin Poe had. He claims to have a demon that takes control of him, making him kill a woman, resulting in his imprisonment and complete separation from his family. With a strong feeling of guilt and anger, Benjamin thinks it is impossible to extricate himself, thus coming up with a sinister plan. Benjamin is one of the many souls that are manipulated by the demon Crighton, who sins against Lucifer, wanting him to pay for it. However, everything that Crighton acquires from Lucifer is a form of investment that is paid at a later date.
Benjamin Poe is a man condemned to death, and the first chapter is in the form of his narration of his crime of shooting the demon Crighton in the chest because the latter collects souls. He follows it with the devil after Poe dies, but he is outwitted and subdued by scientists from the Sovereign sector. These scientists focused on supernatural beings and imprisoned Crighton with an angel that has the soul of a woman whose role is to catch the Lucifer. This triggers a series of events that find Crighton caught between the crossfire, as those he trusted betray him to Luther and his growing rage, and mysteries are solved.
Describing a kind of book, it is hardly possible not to mention that Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren is a perfect combination of fantasy, mystery, romance, and suspense. The author employs interesting strategies to make the book feel like a movie with regards to the paths of hell and character interactions and events. I generally don’t like reading novels related to romance, but to my surprise, I was glued to the novel throughout and did not feel like dozing off at any one time.
I did not have a single complaint concerning this novel. This is a two-part story where I found it rather creative that the villain of the first story becomes the protagonist of the second. Yup, it was simple and did not make me feel as if there was a whole lot of information crashing in my brain.
This only means that the book has been proofread thoroughly and there were no mistakes in choosing the grammars to be used. It is a 5-star product according to my opinion since it will be appropriate for me to give it a perfect score. I cherish this book for its religious themes and for inviting the readers to the ideology challenge.
