[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is a fantasy novel that takes us into the world of Voulhire, where magic, politics, and personal struggles combine. This is the first book in Matthew Tysz's epic fantasy series, "We Are Voulhire."
The story starts with the arrival of Galen Bray, a young man escaping from the war-torn Lands of the Princes, a place ruined by battles and struggles for power. Galen inherits a forge in the city of Magnum Caelum from his late uncle, a location where he dreams of finding peace and a fresh start. Nevertheless, he soon finds out that Voulhire is not the peaceful place he imagined. Dark forces such as Lord Meldorath, a powerful and mysterious mage who once was the ruler of Hillport, and the threat of rebel group Riva Rohavi put the kingdom's security at risk. Galen's arrival in Voulhire and his involvement in these developing events make the story more interesting and exciting with suspense, mystery, and epic battles.
This book excels in developing its characters. Galen is a complex protagonist, marked by his tragic past and his optimism for the future. Another remarkable character is Lord Eldus, a knowledgeable and resolute leader who works hard to rebuild Hillport and earn the trust of its traumatized people. Additionally, the book is well structured and thoroughly edited; I didn't come across any grammatical or spelling errors in the book.
"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is an excellent and well-written fantasy novel that earns a rating of five out of five stars from my side for its character development and vivid world-building. Moreover, there are no negative points to talk about.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys epic fantasy novels with a rich, detailed world filled with magic, political intrigue, and war.
