Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies

[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
Matthew Tysz's We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the first of a seven-book fantasy series. Themes like magic, mystery, thrillers, and science fiction aspects are central to the work. King Wilhelm, King of Voulhire, was concerned that his sons may plot against him for the kingdom. Removing his sons from his empire, he gave each of them a chain of islands and an army to protect themselves. With the passing years, these territories grew war-stretched, and the situation deteriorated there.
When Galen, from the Lands of the Princes, inherits his uncle's territory in the Kingdom of Voulhire, he has the chance to leave the kingdom torn apart by conflict. Galen is both eager and nervous to settle into the prosperous kingdom. But Voulhire is not without immediate peril. Can the king prevent his kingdom from being destroyed? Are the Mighty Mianoran Knights going to help the King? Will the strong wizards, whom even the monarch fears, wreak further havoc?
Matthew Tysz did an excellent job at world-building throughout the novel. The maps made it easier for the readers to picture the scene. The medium-paced nature of the novel made it easier for the readers to acquaint themselves with the new universe they were thrust into.
I thought it was great that the book was told from a variety of points of view since it allowed me to better relate to and comprehend the characters. It also gave us a more comprehensive understanding of the kingdom of Voulhire by presenting it from many angles. The book does an excellent job of holding the reader's interest from the very beginning. The suspense in the book kept you turning pages till the very end.
Since I enjoyed reading it so much and thought it was a terrific book, I would like to give it five out of five stars. The book's editing is exceptional.
We are Voulhire; A New Arrival under Great Skies is an excellent choice for fantasy fans. For anyone considering beginning to read fantasy fiction, it's also an excellent book. Fans of magic, mysteries, and thrillers will also enjoy this novel.
