[Following is a volunteer review of "The Solution is Political Revolution" by Jillion R Rising.]
"The Solution is Political Revolution" by Jillion R. Rising is a thought-provoking and comprehensive critique of the current state of American politics and economics, aimed at encouraging working-class citizens to rise up and demand change. This book argues the notion that the American government, in liaison with powerful financial institutions like Wall Street and the Federal Reserve, has systematically tried to deteriorate the wealth and freedom of the average citizen. It also says this is being done via certain corrupt practices, for example, deregulation and concentration of industry practices that have resulted in monopolization. As highlighted in the book, the American government controls the media, exploits technology, and even relies on events at the global level to carry out its agenda.
The title of the book is “The Solution is Political Revolution,” and this is what Rising thinks is the necessary action to correct the injustice done. He envisions radical changes that would eliminate the existing hierarchy: disintegration of large corporations, changes in the electoral law, measures against financial machineries. Rising has especially brought significant criticism to the two-party system of democracy, arguing that the two parties represent the same interests of the large corporations.
I especially loved how the book stressed the importance of unity among citizens, urging them to put aside political and social differences in order to confront the real enemies of freedom and prosperity. There wasn't anything I disliked about this book; even its editing was exceptional. Therefore, I'll rate it five out of five stars. It was an eye-opener and deserves nothing less.
“The Solution is Political Revolution” is a book of strategies that I will recommend to orient readers to embrace change and act towards change in society. It is a book that addresses the anger and anxiety of so many Americans now and precisely maps out a relatively simple, if revolutionary, plan.
