[Following is a volunteer review of "Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis.]
“Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book” by Kalliope Barlis is an inspirational and motivational handbook you can carry in your golf bag. It includes important exercises designed to dramatically improve your game. This handbook features material that wasn't included in the previous book, “Play Golf Better Faster: The Classic Guide to Optimizing Your Game and Building Your Best Fast.”
It is based on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which recognizes everyone's ability to change for the better. NLP is the only technology of thought that creates long-lasting change. NLP makes us more aware of how we think as we experience the world through our five senses: how we see, feel, hear, smell, and taste.
The act of playing golf is driven by our unconscious mind while we consciously focus on the target. The author highlights the importance of finding balance in life, maintaining a positive mindset, honing our skills through practice, and staying connected to the golf course. Additionally, she stresses the significance of cherishing our lives, nurturing creativity, and finding enjoyment in the game.
I enjoyed the message from Kalliope, which emphasized that with thoughtful consideration, imagination, and practice, we can accomplish any goal in life. The author highlighted that expensive and fancy equipment is unnecessary, as the most important tool is our mind, which is free. It provided detailed and well-thought-out brain exercises, visualization techniques, and questionnaires to assist in achieving the desired results. The section about where you want to be in 3 years was particularly compelling.
The book is very well-written and edited. However, the formatting of the contents could be improved. The language and golf terminology used are simple and understandable. The illustrations are self-explanatory. This book is useful for anyone interested in golf, whether they are a beginner or a veteran looking to improve or polish their skills.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars rating.
