[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a reasonably unique fantasy and adventure novel by Matthew Tysz. In this novel, the audience meets the fascinating realm of Voulhire, a place with magic, coups, and many more cultures. It’s quite a captivating one indeed. Galen’s continuing story is intertwined with that of many different people, all of whom are antonyms and facets of the society of Voulhire.
Tysz’s writing style is another highlight. His depicted prose is interesting and mostly, if not wholly, based on imagery, where the imaginary aspects within the plot are created. There is also a narrative where he jumps between different characters’ heads that provides more of Voulhire to the readers rather than just the plain, straightforward narrative. Storylines are combined so well that they follow each other and do not seem out of context.
The book presents not only the thrilling storyline with a vivid setting but also the internal themes of self, power, and loyalty. These issues are connected to the central narrative of the story in a commendable fashion, making the readers appreciate the implications of decision-making, about power, and the challenges faced by societies in such complex situations.
The first thing that I like is the implications of the layouts and the geography of the towns and the numerous fantastic attributes allow readers to create a clear picture of the surroundings without losing the story context. The second thing is that the editing of the book is perfect with no grammatical mistakes.
I did not have any negative point about this book and I am pleased to give 5 out of 5 stars without any reason for a single mistake of the author and book.
Overall, We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a startling debut into the world of fantasy literature. Matthew Tysz’s careful planning of the fantasy world, engaging characters, and intriguing story make the book a page-turner among fantasy enthusiasts. It has a lot of action but is not all action, it is well written so there is plenty of reading and it combines magical fantasy with perilous politics that caters to all types of readers.
