What did impress me is Robert R. Abbott’s "Appetite for Risk." His survival stories—of death-defying skydiving, of cobra fighting, and of shark swimming—are all so real. Several times in the novel, his narrow escape from death is shocking, and it reveals Abbott’s bravery and zeal.

I have no doubt that reading about the actual adventures of Robert Abbott, especially in Nigeria, made me grateful for today’s peace. The physical violence and brutality he encountered shocked me. In the end, I admired him for his bravery and tenacity. He survived the worst aspects of life and is not a poor man. Reflectively, his story is a moving instance of optimism and the potential of human life in terms of undergoing changes.

Robert Abbott’s account of the skydiving accident is a moment that really lingered with me. His parachute ripped half in midair, and the description of the free fall in graphic details impressed me. The only thing that amazed me was the fact that even though he was terrified, he remembered everything. He remembered every detail of the jump, the flight, and the impact with great composure, which is very inspiring.

I was amazed at how well Abbott writes. As I read each of the events he described in detail, I felt as though I was actually experiencing them myself. The outbursts of emotions made it realistic. The book held my attention from beginning to end due to its captivating nature. Abbott’s way of telling the story made his adventures seem very realistic for me.

I absolutely loved every bit of the book, leaving me with no dislikes about it. The editing was smooth and flawless, making the book well written and void of typographical errors. I particularly admired the way the author paid so much attention to the flow of the novel meant for reading in a sitting.

Overall, I will rate "Appetite for Risk" 5 out of 5 stars. This memoir is most suitable for people who like true-life adventure fiction. This book is filled with detailed descriptions of Robert Abbott's life and his dramatic life-threatening experiences, which is interesting, making it worth reading if you're interested in a true story.
