Review of Toni the Superhero

[Following is a volunteer review of "Toni the Superhero" by R.D. Base.]
Toni the Superhero is a quaint little children’s book with adorable illustrations to accompany the story. This book is about superhero Toni and all the things that he likes to do, but it isn’t just saving animals and being a good helper. This superhero enjoys doing everyday things just like you and me.
R.D. Base created a lovely, easy-to-read book recommended for kids ages two to five. While they might still be too young to understand fully, it seems like an underlying theme of this story is that being a superhero isn’t just wearing a cape or mask and saving the day. It’s doing everyday things with friends and helping out around the house. It’s enjoying little things and instilling in young minds that everyone can be a superhero. I think this message is essential for growing minds, and I appreciate R.D. Base’s subtle life lessons.
I look forward to reading this to my nieces and nephews. I recommend this book to any parent to put on their child’s bookshelf for them to read. Also, pick it up and read it with them, going beyond what’s written on the pages because doing that will expand their imagination and their belief in themselves to do more than they thought they could. R.D. Base has other Toni books in the works, and I hope they all carry similar messages for our youths.
There was nothing about this book I would change, and I found no errors while reading it. I’d also like to say I loved the illustrations in this book; they were well done and a fun addition to the story. For this and all the quality reasons stated above, I give this children’s book a five out of five stars. I look forward to reading more of R.D. Base’s books and more of Toni’s adventures.
