[Following is a volunteer review of "What did you do at school today?" by C.C. Lacavera.]
What Did You Do At School Today? by C. C. Lacavera talks to the younger children about their school day. She asks different open-ended questions arranged from adventures of the playground to what they did in P. E. to Science.
There is so much that I enjoyed about this book. First, I want to point out the illustrations laid out throughout the book. The illustrator did a wonderful job drawing these pictures and the color choices they used to portray them. They are beautifully well done. Second, they were creative with the questions while being open-minded. Having the questions set up like this can result in the book having different answers each day, depending on how the child's day went, or if there was an introduction to something they had never seen or heard before. The only thing I did not really like was that I had to zoom in to see and read the book, but that is common with preschool-age books.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has small children, grandchildren, and friends who know someone who would like a gift because this book is a gift that keeps on giving.
What Did You Do At School Today? was very properly edited without a single grammatical error or typo. The illustration was perfect with no smudges, making the pictures very clear to see. Realizing this is a very short book after I read this l considered everything and I have to say that this book is very well deserving of 5 out of 5 stars. I absolutely could not find any reason to go lower than that. I hope the author writes more books in this style because I believe children and parents alike will be able to communicate better as they talk about the school day.
