Country Club Time by James Allen describes Jimmy's life's most pivotal period. It is written in first-person narration, giving us a clear and deep understanding of Jimmy's struggles and joys. As a teenager, he got himself involved with drugs, selling and using them, and under their influence, tried robbing a bank with a friend. Despite their confidence in never getting caught, after several consecutive crimes, they got arrested and convicted. Through his psychological struggles in prison, Jimmy came to find hope and assurance in God. From then on, his life turned around. His doubts are clearly expressed through his flashbacks and current mindset.

The first thing I loved about the book was how connected and open the author seemed towards the readers. Each chapter was summarized by the author's words, deriving the key points and talking individually to the readers. It was very touching and drew attention to the book's main purpose: to help those struggling with similar problems and bring the best out in them. Relevant scriptures were also a nice touch, teaching people more about the Bible. Overall, each aspect of the story was beautifully told in detail, which must've taken a lot of courage and enhanced the book's purposefulness. I think it was professionally edited as I came across no errors. The book had a great impact on me and helped me understand similar problems. I think the author managed to get his word to many people through the story and reached his goal. I like how after Jimmy became faithful, his doubts and temptations were also shown along with the joy and happiness.

The book didn't have any negative aspects. It was well carried out in every aspect: narration, information, details, and smooth readability. There was no noticeable obstacle.

For these reasons, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. It successfully serves its purpose and offers a realistic point of view. I recommend the book to teenagers aged 15 and older. Despite the book containing many disturbing scenes, I think people who feel the urge to be under the influence of substances would benefit from Jimmy's experience. Anyone with such problems should give it a try.
