[Following is a volunteer review of "Winning at Leading Women In Leadership" by Ronica Watkins, PhD.]
Winning at Leading - Women in Leadership by Ronica Watkins, PhD, is a book that motivates all women to lead in their everyday activities no matter their position. Watkins explains the importance of women in leadership positions and encourages women to take up leadership roles, as their approach to challenges will help create the impact they want to make in the world. She asks women to examine their behavior as problem-solving, active listening, and empathetic communication because these actions form the foundation of leadership. Read on to
Firstly, I love how practical this book is. The instructions are straightforward. They teach women to develop leadership abilities through knowing their purpose, leading through example, and team empowerment. This book not only contained motivational insights, it was also very practical and easy to follow.
The stereotyping and castigating of women in higher positions these days are on the increase, and it seems like some people are just waiting for women to fail. However, Watkins must have understood this and created the perfect guide for women to get leadership positions and be good leaders. I felt so proud and motivated reading this book. Watkins's words fight against the outdated belief that leadership belongs to men, while she supports women in embracing their power and shattering barriers to reshaping leadership perceptions. The world requires additional women leaders because their voices represent the essential force needed to create change.
The parts that stood out to me were when she talked about saying ‘no’ when necessary and how to show persistence while demonstrating leadership. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I agree with everything the author says and there is nothing to dislike about it. This book was error-free and exceptionally edited. I recommend this book to women and girls, as it will teach them to lead with intention and enthusiasm.
