Are you happy? What does happiness mean to you? "The Pursuit of Happiness: Practical Steps to a Joyful Existence" by Paul Lucas Scott is a book that encourages us to pause and reflect on our answers.

For me, happiness is peace. I feel truly happy when my mind is calm and at ease. Happiness can mean something different for each of us. Through this book, we get an analysis of what happiness is and how to create habits that help to maintain lasting happiness. It includes topics like common myths about happiness, the psychology and neuroscience behind happiness, case studies of people who have found true happiness in their lives, etc. I was truly surprised to find out how genetics play a role in our overall happiness.

The writing style of the author is very simple and direct. Not only that, each chapter ends with a short takeaway to help us remember the main idea discussed in that chapter. There are also small exercise sections in between, with questions that help us to reflect on ourselves. Additionally, the author used scientific studies and included references, which made the book more informative and credible.

Some of the topics in the book, like relationships, self-care, and gratitude, might already feel familiar to us. But many of us forget to apply it in the rush of daily life. For me, this book felt like a reminder to take a break and reflect on myself. With practical exercises and personal anecdotes by the author, it was helpful for me to apply these techniques in my own life.

Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5. There is nothing I dislike about this book. Also, the book is flawlessly edited. If you are interested in knowing more about this book, grab a copy. This book is suitable for people who struggle to find happiness.

I have always tried to stop and just think about what makes us happy. It's great to have books that can help you realize that, and even if they don't offer the best advice, they are a reminder. Thank you for this great review! Looking forward to reading more from you...

You are right! In this fast world, we forget relationship, self care and gratitude. I am glad that this book reminds us about these values. Thanks for your review!

Everybody wants to be happy. According to your review this easy-to-read book can guide us onto the path of happiness. It is up to us to continue to follow the path. In my lifetime, I have known people who seem to have been born happy—you know, the type of person who is always smiling, never depends on alcohol or recreational drugs at parties, and always seems comfortable in their own skin. I believe there is truth to the idea that just the act of smiling can help one feel happier. Once in a while we all need a reminder about how to be happy. Read this book and smile! Great review, as usual!

I am happy, and I am fortunate to feel that way. I am not sure how this book stands out among the sea of happiness-seeking non-fiction books, but the book cover looks cute.

I agree with you in your view about the book. Happiness sometimes needs to remind ourselves of what's important. Beautifully written review.

I have been wanting to read this book. However, since the cover here and on Amazon India differ, I have skipped it for a long time. Now that you have picked the book recently, I'll check if it is still available on my list.

It is nice to know that the subject matter is dealt with in a relatable way, and the suggestions are practical. Thank you for your informative review, Anu.
