Finally finding the chance to explore the mysterious Northland like he always dreamed, Arjan hires Radhana as his guide for his exploring adventure. Radhana, with her wisdom and foresight, seeks her friend and mentor Baben to consult him about the best route to take in her upcoming journey. Baben, a cosmic being unbeknownst to Radhana, advises her on the best route to take, gives her a mysterious emerald medallion, and warns her that taking any sort of weapons on her journey will have huge ramifications.

Radhana hires five porters from the Daden tribe since they are known for their dedication, tracking skills, and loyalty; delivers Baben's warning about carrying weapons to Arjan and the porters; and then leads the group to begin their journey. However, Arjan, in his arrogance, ignores Radhana's warning and puts his life and every member of the expedition in danger when his concealed weapon is found later after entering Northland. Things get worse and more dangerous after they find out that Baben somehow arranged for all of them to take this journey to save Mother World by stopping the energy surges that have been plaguing the Northland for some time.

John Frederick Zurn does an amazing job creating an entire world from scratch in Northland Chronicles: Mother World in Peril. The simple hand sketch at the beginning of the book gives a clear idea of the paths and routes the group takes, making it easy to imagine their journey and the hardships they face during their mission due to the difficult terrain they must go through.

Zurn also concludes the book with a list of the main characters with a brief explanation of their roles in the plot, along with a list of the 7 medallions, explaining the purpose of each one separately, which eliminates any confusion or misunderstanding while reading the book.

The book presents important philosophical views in a simple way that the younger audiences can easily comprehend. It also teaches the importance of erasing self-centeredness and selfishness while learning to serve others and the greater good.

Throughout the book I noticed how the author explained every detail about the characters' intentions and thoughts without leaving anything for the reader to deduce on their own, making me believe it is more suitable for young teens who love the fantasy genre, especially since the book is free of mature content and explicit language.

There is nothing that I dislike about the book; however, I encountered many grammatical errors and typos that make me believe that the book needs professional editing. For this reason, I am deducting a point and rating the book 4 out of 5 stars.

This cover does not quite translate to this story. But I am interested in the premise related to saving Mother World/Earth. With defined characters and good writing, it sounds like a good book with a relevant message. Thank you, @@Omneya Shakeep for the recommendation. Great review!
