A.D. Lewis writes a supernatural thriller and demon-run murder mystery in the novel Warden of the Dark: The Wrath of Ira. The story begins with Detective Eric Walker, who goes missing after a run-in with a gang suspected of multiple crimes. Eric’s partner, Detective Reyes, and his sergeant believe he was taken as retribution for interfering with the local gang. However, when Eric returns a year later—harboring a darker side, suspicions arise that something far worse is at play. Now sharing his soul with a demon hunter named Raven, Detective Walker must track down one demon in particular, Mr. Finch, and send him back to where he came from. The question is: can he complete this daunting task without arousing suspicion from his partner? Can he keep his current police division from discovering what he has become? Is hell deep enough to bury its own demons?

In this novel, the author does a magnificent job of keeping the reader’s attention. At times, it feels as though there are three different stories unfolding, all of which eventually refocus on the main characters. There are multiple crimes and an abundance of twists and turns, making it hard to stop reading. The plot itself is unique and unlike anything I have previously.

I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. There are several grammatical errors that need to be addressed. With additional editing, this novel could be an absolute thrill for sci-fi enthusiasts and young adults. This book has wonderful potential down the road.
