The book Have Faith in God but Believe in the Devil by Glenn R. Thompson contains enlightening stories about the author’s life experiences. The book has a good amount of humor, and the author is very honest and open about mistakes made throughout life. The book is a sincere attempt by the author to lead people to Christ.

The author begins each chapter with a quote by Jesus from the Bible in red print; however, there are no book, chapter, or verse references. The content contains text from different Bible versions. The content should include references to the particular version. The book would be stronger by including references to these quotes. Statistics without cited references are included in the section entitled "Commandments Murder." Statistics and biblical text should have references included.

There are several grammatical errors throughout the book. The same spelling error occurs multiple times in the quotes by Jesus and in the body of the book, in which the author uses “onto” for “unto.” Grammatical errors detract from the reader’s focus.

The author includes thought-provoking stories about personal life experiences. The content describing the Holy Spirit directing the author through bodily aches and pains is interesting. Readers can be cynical about these types of experiences, but most people have experienced similar situations.

To conclude, the book would be stronger without the excessive grammatical errors. The content could be improved by including scripture, verse, and version references for the quotes from Jesus and the statistical information. On the positive side, I admire what I believe is a sincere attempt by the author to lead people to Christ. The author also writes with openness and honesty about personal experiences and past mistakes. The author includes pictures for nature and horse lovers. I rate the book 3 out of 5 due to grammatical errors and the possibility of confusing the reader.
