Magi Apprentice is an lovely historical novel that offers a fresh, well researched and understanding take on the invented story of the wise men who visited Jesus. Set in the final years before the Common Era, the novel follows Rassan, a Parthian cavalry officer whose life takes a dramatic turn when he inherits ancient star charts from a dying Magi. Thrust into a world of scholarship, political tension, and spiritual awakening, Rassan begins a journey that could change not just his destiny, but the course of history itself. What makes Magi Apprentice stand out is its blend of action, intrigue, and theology the author clearly conducted deep historical and biblical research, bringing authenticity to the settings and depth to the astronomical and prophetic elements of the plot. The spiritual undertones never feel heavy or upsetting; rather, they add richness to the protagonist’s development and the cultural backdrop. The novel is clear and descriptive and a all around good read the novel has light swearing and historical religious references but no graphic or adult content but i would put the Recommended Age Range around 12 and up so it's ideal for middle schoolers readers into young adults, especially those interested in Christian themes, ancient history, or Biblical retellings. i would like to keep in mind that Younger readers might be challenged by the historical context and political intrigue, though the absence of harsh content makes it accessible.
