Heartaches 2 by H. M. Irwing, is the second book in the bad boy vibes trilogy. It continues from where the first book left off without missing a beat. The author also does a good job of connecting the reader to the previous book without going into too much detail. The story captures Anna's and Rafe's life as a couple and their efforts to overcome being victims of sexual assault.

Since the last book, Anna and Rafe have settled well into life in military school. Their love and support for each other is evident to all their friends and colleagues. That strong love has them dependent and leaning on each other through every hurdle. Despite their collective enemies regrouping and trying to interfere, Anna and Rafe are able to overcome the attacks against them.

What I liked most about this book is the growth and development in the characters, especially Anna. Having a supportive boyfriend, close friend and colleagues has a positive effect on her. Anna is no longer the naïve young lady the Prestons took advantage of. She has morphed into a strong, confident young woman. Rafe still has his dark moments but having Anna beside him helps him pull through. Through Anna, Irwing is able to show that assault victims can overcome victim mentality and progress in life. A support system that encourages them is important and extremely necessary.

The author weaves a compelling tale in this installment as in book 1. Though Anna and Rafe are the main characters, we get introduced to the struggles and successes of others such as Pat, Aunt Bella and Anna's mother. You can expect a few surprises as the story develops. A couple of shocking truths come to light but the serve to spice up the story. I must say, this book seemed to start off a bit slow for me but got quite interesting midway, all the way to the end.

In my opinion the book deserved a 4 out of 4 stars rating. There were few grammatical errors in the book but none detracted from the story. A bit of proofreading will help rectify those errors. Since there are intimate sexual scenes that would not be suitable for younger readers, I would recommend the book to young adults. As with the previous book in the series, the book ends on a cliffhanger. Fortunately, for readers interested in Anna's and Rafe's vengeance plan, the final book is available.

This is a very well written review. I also like how Anna has grown confident and that she finally has support to feel safe in her life.

I have read and written the review of Heartaches 2 by I.M Irwing. Anna Walters-Simmons acts as protagonist character in the story who suffered from cruelty, rapist and remorseless behaviors from her closely linked people. She is passing from a very poor condition full of grief but also trying to come back to its normal position with the desire of vengeance. Raphael Russo Brown, often called Rafe is the boyfriend of Anna and remains with in all of the difficulties suffered by her because all the conditions had also been suffered by him. The erroneous and disturbed mental conditions of both members bring them to a unity and match. Thanks for your great review.
