BOOK REVIEW-END OF DAYS

Roadmap to the End of Days by David Friedmann is a book that looks at all of human history from a biblical perspective. Friedmann aligns the course of biblical chronology with events of the past and the present to shape a convincing roadmap that leads to the end of days. His expert combination of biblical chronology, science and history makes for a thought-provoking read as he lays it all out on a clear biblical timeline. According to Friedmann, all of history is leading to the Divine Plan and we humans can make it come about sooner depending on our actions.
I was a bit taken aback by the huge scope of this book and the fact that it takes on one of humankinds’ biggest debates and attempts to make it understandable to the everyday person. But the more I read, the more I wanted to read. Friedmann has mapped out history from the beginning of time and followed it through to the present day.
Along the way he highlights events from the Bible and the Jewish Torah that support his concept. The End of Days challenged and expanded my knowledge of Biblical history and of the Jewish Torah; I found it interesting that they are so closely intertwined and yet so different.
What I liked most about the book was its’ historical perspective on prophecy and how both Jewish and Christian history play a part in the end times; I think anyone interested in prophecy will enjoy this book. Friedmann’s’ style of writing is easy to read, and he has clearly has a passion for the subject. Although prophecy and the Bible are among my favorite subjects, I’m not a student of theology, and this book delves deep into that subject. Consequently, the book was a slow read for me and probably will be for anyone not familiar with biblical history. But I do recommend the book to anyone interested in prophecy and the end times; just be prepared to feel a bit overwhelmed while reading it.
An issue I have with the book is Friedmann’s inclusion of what he calls Amalek. He doesn’t make it clear if Amalek is a person or a spirit, but Amalek plays a large part in the book and is referred to as both a group of people, (the Amelikites), and as an evil spirit. I was left wondering which one to believe.
I didn’t find any grammatical or spelling errors in the book, and overall, I very much enjoyed reading it and learning about the ancient history of the Bible. I also enjoyed the idea Friedmann puts forth in the book that history is purposeful and has a beginning and an end.
I would give this book 4 out of 4 stars because it’s very well written and researched. The topic is absorbing and addresses a subject that has been at the forefront of human history since time began.
