I wasn't sure what to expect when I began reading about a street musician who had just been released from prison for assaulting a police officer. But I must admit I got drawn into the story very quickly and wanted to follow this crazy and very dellusional world of Edward or as he likes to be known Pomeroy. It was like entering a world where you got a feeling that anything could happen, Pomeroy is a man with no bounds. It's his way or the highway. I don't think I have ever come across a character quite like Pomeroy!

Pomeroy is out of prison but it's not for the first time, he seems to be making quite a habit of assaulting police officers. He is yet again out on parole and following his dream of being a famous musician. Nothing is going to stop him, he has seen the worse side of living, being in prison, living on the streets, now its time for him to be the new Bob Dylan, as Pomeroy really thinks he is that good.

Yes Pomeroy is very out there, dellusional, crazy, full of himself, his head is full of fame, wealth and he fully intends to get himself on TV, bag himself an agent and get his mitts on a huge record contract. He thinks he has huge talent and that his song 'Ants In My Pants' has number one written all over it.

Pomeroy is so full of himself in fact that he thinks he is Gods gift to women, that all woman fancy him and he has a chance with them all. He even thinks his parole officer Jessica fancies him. When Jessica hears Pomeroys plans of fame and fortune she advises him to get a real life plan. Does Pomeroy listen? Of course not!

I did find myself laughing at the comedic tone of the book. Pomeroy though at times his sense of humour is not for everyone, it fitted the character. It is an incredibly well written book, which certaunly made me look forward to my time reading it. With Pomeroy he clearly had intelligence too, but I did find some of his analysists of things a little crude and I laughed a few times when maybe I shouldn't of done. But for enjoyment value its a four out of four stars, well written, I couldn't wait to see how it ended and despite all of Pomeroys ways I did find myself warming to him when at the start I wasn't sure if I would or not.
