This is the first book I have read in this series of children's books. The author R.F. Kristy has written this enjoyable book that will have children and adults reading it. Serendipity Mystery Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a wonderful book of interesting animals that are family and friends. They have a detective agency where they investigate crimes and have fun solving them.

Inca is the head of the detective agency. Fromage is Inca's brother who seems to get into trouble. Cara is a Siamese cat and she is Inca's sister. Monk is a Blue Russian cat and, he is very intelligent. Charlotte is the cute hamster. Terrance is a detective dog that reputed for his bravery and last but not least is Polo is a Pekinese dog that thinks he is bigger than he really is. They live in London with their mom. They are team players that get the job done.

The group of them except, for Polo and Monk go on vacation with their mom, to Sri Lanka, at a seaside village named Galle. They all have fun playing on the beautiful beach. They eat ice cream and they even meet some friends along the way. They meet a turtle named Rani who loves eating algae with his family while they glide through the water. The next friend they meet is a baby elephant named Meena, and her mother. Meena asks Inca if he would like a ride on her mother's back and Inca is overjoyed to do this. Inca introduces all his friends and family to Rani and Meena and her mother. There is a Python snake who is not trustworthy and a group of leopards that become their friends. Inca and her family and friends along with mom go to a Museum and discover that an ancient sword has been stolen. This a job for Inca and Company. They get help from their friends Rani, Meena and her mother. Because of their friendship and teamwork investigating this mystery is a powerful lesson for children to learn.

There are a lot of colorful pictures with an array of expressions for each character. The pictures are very cute and they make you smile. I liked the way the author has this story taking place in another country for children reading this book about how other people live. She uses words that are used in the cultures where they are staying. Such words are a great learning experience for children since they are not used here. I like the names of the places such as Sri Lanka, Colombo, Galle, and Anuradhapura because this is a great way to learn pronunciation and spelling. R.F. Kristy uses some larger vocabulary words that some children will need help with. Love this because children will broaden their vocabulary.

The way this book is written with play and work along with family and friends makes this a delightful read. 7 to 14-year-olds will love reading this book. I believe reading this will hold their interest even with a few larger vocabulary words. I loved this book so I am rating this a 4 out of 4 stars. Because of the love of animals, the author has shown adults and children I know everyone will love reading this wonderful book.
